Perthshire has long been known for its variety of game and excellent fishing.
Achray House is on the shore of Loch Earn, which is well stocked with brown and rainbow trout. The Loch feeds the River Earn, which is well known for its sea trout, as well as salmon and brown trout.
The River Tay, a short drive from the Achray House, is one of the principal salmon rivers in Europe. There are also many other rivers and lochs, such as the Tay, Tummel, Rannoch and Lubnaig within easy reach.
Most of the local estates offer shooting or stalking, and your hosts Alan and Jane can help to arrange this, or put you in touch with the appropriate people.
