Achray House is ideally situated for walking holidays in the Southern Highlands, with cross country walks, Corbetts (mountains up to 2,500 feet) and Grahams (up to 3000 feet) directly accessible from the hotel, and Munros (over 3000 feet) within a few minutes drive. Indeed, for Munro bagger there are over 50 Munro's within one hour's drive. Your hosts Jane and Alan Gibson are keen walkers and can advise you on the most enjoyable local routes to meet your aspirations.

Our walking breaks also take the hassle out of the daily logistics. Start the day with a hearty Scottish breakfast, or our high carb walker's breakfast whilst you plan your day. To help with this we supply you with a map pack with an Ordnance Survey 1:25 000 Explorer map for the local area, and have a complete set of maps of the surrounding area available in the hotel for you to consult.

We provide a packed lunch with a flask of hot soup each day, and by prior arrangement can provide transport to and from local hills in our veteran Land Rover. At the end of the day you can relax over a three course meal in our conservatory restaurant overlooking Loch Earn and the mountains beyond, and perhaps remember the highlights of your day over a malt whisky from our extensive collection.

Should the weather prove inclement, we have drying facilities to make sure that your walking clothes and boots are dry at the start of the next day.

You can get more information to start planning your walking holiday in the walking and hill walking sections of our web site. You can book a walking break using our on-line reservation system on the right of this page, or by emailing Achray House, or by calling us on +44 (0)845 557 0774.
