Enjoying fine food whilst looking out over Loch Earn, followed by a single malt by the log fire is the essence of a visit to Achray House for many of our guests.
For whisky enthusiasts we have refined this further with our Whisky Lovers Break: two days of fine food and whisky tasting with the opportunity of a local distillery visit during one of the days.
We start to get you in the mood with a three course evening meal from our menu of the month featuring local meat, game and fish in The Conservatory restaurant overlooking Loch Earn. Then relax in the Neish lounge with our malt whisky explorer: tasters of five malt whiskies from the five main whisky regions of Scotland.
On the second day you can if you wish visit the Glenturret Distillery in nearby Crieff. Glenturret, now owned by The Famous Grouse, is the oldest (legal) distillery in Scotland.
Have a light lunch, because a gourmet's delight awaits you in the evening. Stimulate your taste buds with an aperitif whisky - a 15 year old Glenlivet, or, if you prefer an Achray Sparkler (our take on a Kir Royale, but made with an Australian sparkling wine and a small amount of natural Scottish raspberry juice). Then sit down to our five course malt whisky tasting menu. This showcases the best of Scottish produce with five small courses, each course accompanied by a sauce made from a different malt whisky. After dinner you can round the evening off with a vertical whisky tasting: the same whisky at three different ages.
The Whisky Lovers Break is available throughout the low season and costs from £190 per person for two nights, based on two people sharing a room. This price includes breakfast on both days, both evening meals described above, and the two whisky tasters and aperitif. It does not include the cost of the optional distillery tour.
You can check availability of The Whisky Lovers Break and book it on-line using our secure booking system on the right, or by email, or by telephoning us on +44 (0)845 557 0776. If booking on-line, choose the Whisky Lover's Break Special Offer for the room type you want.
