Food is a passion at Achray House.
Alan Gibson and his team in the kitchen combine local Scottish produce with techniques gleaned from a lifetime of globe trotting to create a contemporary Scottish style. There is a strong emphasis on local game, beef, pork and lamb, as well as shellfish from the west coast of Scotland, and fish from the east coast.
Our four course evening menu features seasonal dishes, daily changing specials and a few perennial favourites such as our own peat smoked salmon served with a pink pickled ginger jelly and wasabi air, and local venison, which most of our meat eating guests have at least once during their stay at Achray House. Why not titillate your taste buds by browsing a sample evening menu.
For a true gastronomic experience try our taster menu: six small courses highlighting the best of Scottish produce, with the emphasis on seafood and game. The taster menu is also seasonal which and we need two days notice of bookings.
We also offer a bar menu in the evenings if your appetite does not extend to four or six courses. All our food, including our bar food is prepared on site from raw ingedrients sourced from local suppliers, and much of it is locally farmed or reared.
The Conservatory Restaurant is the ideal place for a relaxing evening meal. Its informal style coupled with stunning views of Loch Earn and the mountains beyond will make you want to linger long after you have finished your meal. A carefully chosen wine list of Old and New World wines complements the food, and at the end of the meal if you can tear yourself away from the view you may can relax in the Neish Lounge over a glass of malt whisky from our extensive collection.
Alan and his team are also happy to prepare your favourite dishes or cater for special dietary needs by prior arrangement.
We are open daily for dinner from February until the end of November. Dinner is served in the Conservatory Restaurant from 18:30 until 21:00.
