Meet the Team
Director | Laura Muirhead
Laura grew up spending time at her grandparents’ pubs in Burntisland and with her mum hosting students every summer and running a small B&B in Edinburgh. After 20 years living and working in Tokyo, Amsterdam & London in various careers, she came back to Scotland in 2019 to realise a dream and something that is in her blood. Being a foodie she is passionate about seeing the day Achray House becomes a food tourism destination, celebrating all the great ingredients on the doorstep in Perthshire and across Scotland.
Head Chef | David Racz
David came to Scotland 10 years ago and has worked his way through the ranks of the kitchen. While working as a kitchen porter, he developed a keen interest in cooking and over the years has worked in a variety kitchens most notably The Ducks Inn, Martin Wishart & Chez Roux at Greywalls. He joined Achray House in October 2020 and became Head Chef in February 2022. Classic French cookery is at the heart of his dishes, always with the best seasonal produce available.
Ester & Sean | Queen & Prince of the House
Ester came to St Fillans at the age of 5 in the summer of 2019 to enjoy her retirement. She was a racing greyhound at Newcastle prior to us getting her from the Borders Greyhound centre in Eyemouth. It took her a little while to settle in but now she is very relaxed and very much part of the Achray House family. Sean was also a rescue and came from Coatbridge rescue centre after being retired from racing at Sunderland. Both are moving soon to Switzerland but are very friendly if you do happen to meet them before they go.
The other members of our close-knit and hard working team include: Erik, Andrew, Claire, Josi, Heather, Sam, Callum & Diane.
